protests by professors and teachers started again in Honduras. To tell the truth they had stopped for "their" summer vacation and are shooting for the new school year. Protests who wanted to bring back under the spotlight the real problem is that education has to endure: the lack of salaries and the desire to change (actually remove) The summer of Teaching (for those interested can strut to read here), a fundamental text for the rights of teachers in Honduras, text that explains the rights and duties of a good teacher.
are 6000 teachers in 2010 did not receive a dime, are 6000 teachers who want to continue their work but do not know how to live and support their families. Why this lack of funds? Not sure why we are talking about a Third World country, because if it is true that there is extreme poverty is also true that the world is full of government money for the debt and is in fact the administration has against Lobo 's Institute Nacional de Previsión members that the money for salaries are not there.
The government, however, instead of being ashamed and groped to implement policies that will solve the problem send the army to disperse the crowds; repression was organized in style, with lots of weapons and tear, complete with a block traffic in order to better capture (and in fact have also been imprisoned) and fill the barrel teachers. The police did not confine itself to block the event but then went to dig out all the professors who had found refuge in shops or houses or caves to give him "the punishment he deserved."
The Education Ministry is aware that the salaries were paid, and claims that the protests end up, people say that the money they have not seen them, and then continue to protest, in memory and also remember all those teachers fired or, worse yet, killed only because they had expressed their dissent.
Lobo does not care for its part, travels the world to meet with other presidents and other states, to make better arrangements to fill the pockets of the problems that his country is not interested. A president so you still want to call it democratic?
